Jody Ray Thompson got into an argument at the Playoffz nightclub in Lyman, SC. Thompson, a 32-year-old African American male pulled a gun and started firing into the crowd. Three people were shot, and Thompson might have shot a fourth had a licensed gun owner not pulled out his own firearm, shooting Thompson in the leg. The police questioned the man with the concealed carry permit, but he faces no charges, according to Lt. Kevin Bobo.
The mentions of this story in every mainstream outlet I’ve come across has been only a few paragraphs. There were no extensive reports on TV regarding what could possibly have been a multiple homicide. There were no pundits on TV screaming about how outrageous the gun laws are that Thompson was able to gain access to a weapon and use it to harm innocent people.
But when a gunman walks into a gun-free zone and allegedly kills 50 people? We never hear the end of why guns are the root of all evil in this nation. The President comes out condemning weapons of all kinds. The AGs come out denouncing lax gun control. The pundits cry out for stricter gun laws and the Presidential Candidates use the story for political posturing.
But when it is a gun that saved, potentially 10s of lives, there’s no fanfare. There’s no bragging. There are no calls for looser gun laws. No. Why not? Because it’s not a government-approved propaganda piece.
The government doesn’t want its citizens to have large weapons, because the one thing the government cannot do is overthrow the will of the people, so long as the people band together at some point. The government realizes the time to take full control of the citizens hasn’t come yet because they haven’t successfully removed the larger weapons from its citizens.
The government knows that it cannot fulfill its decades-long plan of establishing some form of a one-world government – one without a Constitution. . . one without the consent of the government — without first having disarmed them.
Stories like this need to be spread and they need to be talked about at great length, because the Orlando shooting would never have happened if one or more of the club-goers were allowed to carry their firearm in the club. That’s why it’s important for you to like and share articles like this, every time you find one.
