[Warning Graphic Video] Uncensored Footage from Ray Tensing’s Bodycam Shows UC officer Murdered Sam Dubose point-blank.
Sam was pulled over due to a missing tag on the front of his vehicle. Throughout the entire interaction between the officer and Sam Dubose, it is quite obvious the officer has a clear assumption that Sam is either doing something wrong or is lying to the officer. At first the cop implies the car is stolen, but the car is actually in Sam’s wife’s name. Then the cop assumes Sam’s license is ‘suspended’ because Sam didn’t have his license on his person.
Sam asked the officer to run Sam’s name, but the officer wasn’t having any of that. So immediately, after verifying that Dubose didn’t have a physical license on his physical person, Ray was going to do what he did to the male in the video I posted yesterday – open the door and handcuff the man while he was still in the vehicle.
But when Ray opened the door, Sam shut it back. He didn’t slam it, nor did he become violent towards the officer. But right after Sam shut the door, he turned the ignition on, said “I didn’t even do nothin’ “, and at that moment it’s obvious that Sam was going to flee the officer. Moments after Sam said he didn’t do anything, officer Tensing reaches into the car, puts the gun against Sam’s head, and pulled the trigger, killing him instantly. The car then took off and crashed into an embankment about a block away.
The first words out of the officer’s mouth after that were “I thought he was going to run me over.” This is clear admission that the officer was never dragged, even though that’s the information he put in his police report, making that report a total fabrication.
It’s worth mentioning that Sam was never violent, agitated, nor did he seem as if he was going to harm the officer or attempt to do anything to the officer, but it is clear Sam was going to flee.
I’d also like to bring up a Supreme Court case from 1985. Now, in the Supreme Court case, Tennessee v. Garner, the Supreme Court ruled that under the Fourth Amendment, when a law enforcement officer is pursuing a fleeing suspect, he may not use deadly force unless the officer has probable cause (not reasonable suspicion, but probable cause) that the suspect poses a significant threat of death or serious physical injury to the officer or others.
That was not the case here. The only reason Ray shot Sam was to prevent him from fleeing the scene, but that isn’t legal. An officer doesn’t have the right to kill you because he thinks you’re going to run. The officer doesn’t even have the right to shoot you once you run. And it’s clear from the video that Sam Dubose didn’t pose a threat to anyone.
Inevitably, people are going to say the officer was justified, but these people are what I like to call “badge bunnies.” They’re always on their knees in front of the officers, no matter what the officer does. I tend to ignore people like this, because it really doesn’t matter what a cop does – they’re always right and the people they kill are always ‘criminals’. Don’t let those guys frazzle you as they are likely in the minority after everyone watches this bodycam footage.
I hope Ray Tensing faces the maximum possible sentence, because as an officer of the law, there’s no reason he should have acted in the way he did. If you agree or disagree, please leave a comment below, and don’t forget to watch the video I posted yesterday.
We have to start showing these brutal cops that they will be held accountable for their actions. We cannot allow these things to go unpunished because when we do, it will simply embolden the rest of them and they will become even more harmful to the people they are supposed to protect.
