A man from Odessa, Tx and his family got the wake-up call of a lifetime on Thursday morning. More than a dozen DEA and SWAT officers, armed with AR-15s, started banging on his door at the crack of dawn.
The man, who we’ll call Capt. America, grabbed his phone and started filming this group of government-gang members terrorizing his family. Capt. America said that he “just didn’t like the way they did it.”
The Ector County SWAT team was assisting the DEA in a raid on Tripp Avenue, but they were serving a warrant on his neighbor, which they knew before knocking on Capt. America’s door.
So without a warrant to search the man’s home, they came banging on the door, insisting that Capt. America give them access to his home in order to search for. . . well. . . something.
While filming, you can hear Captain America telling the officers exactly what he thought of them. After a few moments of being laughed at and given the ‘what-for’, the officers tucked-tail and ran. In classic governmental-gang fashion, they flashed their gang-sign by flipping Captain America off, which was captured in the audio of this film.
Captain America is not his real name; his real name was withheld to protect his family’s privacy, but to me, he’s as American as it comes when he sticks up for himself like he did. Good job Captain America. My hat’s off to you.
The agency released a statement involving the gang intimidation on Thursday:
On May 5, 2016, agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration executed a federal search warrant on Tripp Avenue. During the course of this same investigation, agents contacted (the resident) who resides at a nearby residence. (The resident) was uncooperative with the agents so they departed the premises without incident.
