It’s all over the news. “ISIS Threat Looms in the US” is the headline one might see lurking about, scaring the pants off of people. Just yesterday, the FBI came out to warn military men/women that ISIS is targeting them while in the US. Fox, and most other news outlets, are reporting that the FBI has released a statement to the military: “overseas based individuals are looking for like-minded individuals in the U.S. to carry out these attacks.”

And then they go on to say: “We also request members of the military review their online social media presence for any information that might attract the attention of violent extremists.”

And there we have it. Now the ISIS/ISIL/IS is going to attack our military via their Facebook and Twitter feeds. Essentially, ISIS is going to “find you” and they’re going to “track you down.”
Be very afraid.
That’s the message we are hearing. And then they [news media] will couple this warning with the story of supposed Canadian ISIS attacks.
The mainstream media is saying that the recent Canadian attacks were against Canadian military. . . Yes, they actually do have a military. . . So it’s clear to the FBI that Americans, especially the military, need to be afraid and need to write their Congressmen/women about going to yet another country and bombing the piss out of them. . . because they’re scary. *dun-dun-dun*
But let’s think about this logically. Canada has about 30 people involved in our attempted domination over the middle-east (yet again). War planes have been loaned out to help fight ISIS where they are in order to prevent them from coming here, or there, or anywhere, oink oink. So, their involvement is minimal at best, and arguably non-existent.
Instead of performing attacks inside a country that has basically no border control, a huge amount of open land, yet also has massive cities, and a population full of gun-toting individuals, ISIS plants have decided to shoot up Canada – not the US. So they aim for the country that is harder to get into, and has less crime, and isn’t even much of a part of this whole anti-ISIS thing. Does anyone else find this a little odd? Other countries are experiencing ISIS attacks, but not the country with a border more wide open than a $5 hooker.
Sounds like a case of “blame the guy that isn’t being attacked.” It almost seems to me as if the United States is actually perpetuating these crimes and attacks around the world. Yeah, that’s a big stretch, I realize that, but let’s face it — after 9/11, our country is much less safe than before. It is infiltrated by thousands of Mexicans every week, including Cartel members that seem to just walk back and forth without any issue. Yet we aren’t being attacked. We are killing countless people across the globe, and would seem to be ISIS’ largest target, but nope. . Nothing.
And don’t tell me it’s because we have great intelligence gathering capabilities because if you said that, I’d laugh. Our intelligence arm is so tied up listening to everybody’s phone calls and reading everyone’s emails that they can’t possibly hit all of the “bad guys.” Sure there are programs that can pick out the big, bad terrorist guys from words used in emails like: bomb, hate Obama, Obummer, Hussein Bama, Republican etc. etc. But there are so many of those they’d end up spending all their time looking into the emails of church groups and the NRA that they’d miss the obvious threats.
None of this makes much sense to me. I have a very hard time believing a word the government tells me and have a habit of hearing the government say “here’s a boogeyman” and then looking at the evidence only to discover the accusations and evidence are baseless, made up, or just downright don’t exist.
I’m an American and I don’t like my government trying to scare me. Quite frankly, it pisses me off. I don’t walk outside worried about some guy blowing me up or shooting me. Hell, I’m more concerned with being arrested by the FBI for writing articles like this than I am of death-by-ISIS. I’m also more concerned with being shot by some random cop if I don’t wear my seat belt. So when I hear my President, and those other liars and cheats in power, tell me I need to be afraid of “this guy,” I scoff. I simply look at the evidence, and inevitably discover some connection between my government and the very people they’re trying to say are “bad.”
I urge all of you to do the same. Don’t buy into these scare tactics created by our government and perpetuated by the news outlets that are working for the government. Don’t believe everything our politicians say because, quite frankly, they lie so damned much one can never know when they are telling the truth. When you cry wolf so many times, people start tuning you out. And honestly, that might just get Americans hurt — our own government screaming “Warning, Warning, Warning. . . fear the 5 inch knife that will saw your head off.” I just can’t buy into all that.
Maybe somebody out there can scare me with some real evidence of ISIS in this country just waiting to strike like a snake in the grass while I’m wearing flip-flops. Maybe I’m wrong about it. But I’ve been hearing these threats for so long I yawn through the news reports about recent attacks. But these FBI warnings coupled with some random shooting in Canada being pinned on ISIS simply make me look the other direction and go on with my day.
Either way, it seems to me that the countries not being attacked by these “crazed lunatics” are the very same countries doing the most damage to them. I just find that to be very odd. But maybe it’s just my imagination running wild again.
