Reports from all over the mainstream news are saying the Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, claims that Russia has sent in troops, tanks, and other military equipment into Ukraine. Numbers like “20,000” Russian troops have been thrown around and the information comes in a near panic state. But, is there any truth to these claims?
I don’t know. I’ve been looking for video, pictures, or any other form of proof that Russia has invaded Ukraine, and I just can’t find it. A couple of weeks ago, Russian aid convoys were trying to cross into Ukraine, but President Poroshenko was having none of it. Instead of calling it what it was — aid — Poroshenko called it an act of aggression. Other than pictures of white semi truck/trailers, I have seen no actual evidence of military equipment being sent into Ukraine.
Russian officials are denying any military action inside Ukraine and claim the propaganda is a publicity stunt to make Russia look bad after the summit in Minsk. This information comes from a news site called RiaNovosti.
When I first heard the news, I was skeptical; but after I did some digging and found no evidence of such an “invasion,” I become fairly certain this is more propaganda coming from the Ukrainian government in an attempt to paint Russia in a negative light. And perhaps this is even an attempt to pull the US into a war with Russia. Who knows these days; governments lie all the time – this would be no different.
All I ask of my readers is to be skeptical of the things you see on TV or read from the mainstream media. These people are all colluding together. For that reason, alternative news is the best place to go. I will keep my eye on this evolving issue and report on things as they come in. You can either subscribe to our RSS feed or Like us on FB:
I have been scouring the internet looking for the pictures, and I have finally found them, although it doesn’t look to me as if this is proof of any invasion.
This here shows previous pictures of Russian equipment on the Russian side of the Ukrainian border. Given the things going on in Ukraine, I don’t think it is unwarranted for Russia to move troops to protect its own border.
We aren’t really able to see much proof here either. I see some grainy, photoshopped images pointing out what they want us to see. But what is it that we see – Russian troops invading? Or just sitting on their own border? They are going to have to do better than that for me to take issue with Russia at this point. Russia has shown a lot of restraint during this entire Ukrainian crisis. I don’t think they’re stupid enough to do what they’re being accused of doing.
Now, US officials have come out and said Russia has invaded Ukraine. Russia denies these allegations still and points to Ukrainian lies throughout the whole Ukrainian crisis.
This sounds like the beating of war drums to me. Perhaps this is why Obama hasn’t sent more ground troops to Iraq. Perhaps he was waiting for the next “event” to happen with Russia to give him an excuse to send troops into Ukraine. That is speculation on my part, but who knows. Since Americans are afraid of their own shadows, it seems likely many of them will get behind a war with Russia. But I can assure you, a war with Russia would be a bad mistake for the US. A very bad mistake.
We do not have the means, the credibility, or the support for such a war. Russia isn’t Iraq, Vietnam, or even Germany. The push back from an attack on Russia would be devastating. I’m sure China, India, Japan, Brazil, and other countries would get behind Russia. I truly hope the truth comes out; if Russian troops are actually in Ukraine, I surely hope they don’t hit the war button.
